Changing communities, Changing policing. CITYCoP Final Conference

Last April 17-18 in Florence, the CITYCoP project organized its Final Event. The initiative was aimed at presenting the unique technological solution for improving citizen engagement and efficiency of law enforcement operations developed by the project (the SecureU mobile application and back-end) as well as the academic research that the project has carried out. The event’s first day gave an in-depth view of the CITYCoP system, while the second was focused on the academic research on different aspects of community policing. Within this framework, Daniele Mezzana, on behalf of LSC, presented a set of Guidelines, based on a sociological approach, aimed at providing insights about improved or updated approaches to the policing of contemporary communities, focusing especially on the participation of stakeholders and the use of new Information and Communication Technologies in community policing.
