On 23 and 24 January 2017 a dedicated group of experts from some partners (LSC included) of the CARISMAND project gathered in Rome to exploit the project results and knowledge gained up to this point in the development of two key products that are expected at the end of the project: a Toolkit and a Cultural Map. The CARISMAND Toolkit and Cultural Map are valuable resources that are being developed throughout the project life time and will be made available by the end of the project period. They will help in raising cultural awareness, promoting culturally informed best-practices, and supporting citizens in exploring their individual and communal cultural strengths in the preparation for, response to, and recovery from disasters. In particular, the Toolkit will provide stakeholders at all levels with a set of recommendations, while the Cultural Map will assist formal and “informal” disaster managers as well as interested citizens through a knowledge base, adaptable to different contexts and situations, about cultural dynamics connected with disaster management.
