Folder   "Privacy Enabled Surveillance?" Policy Workshop of the Project Respect in Ljubljana on 2–3 July 2013
 

Using new technologies of surveillance to protect the security of citizens in Europe by both maximizing convenience and cost-effectiveness and respecting at the same time the privacy of citizens. This is the focus of the policy workshop on "Privacy enabled surveillance?” - OPENSUR 2013 , which will be held in Ljubljana next July 2-3, within the framework of the project RESPECT (www.respectproject.eu), funded by the European Commission and coordinated from the University of Groningen. During the workshop, organized by the University of Ljubljana, the first results of RESPECT will be illustrated and discussed together with policy makers, members of the police forces and other social, economic and research actors.
Anyone interested in participating, or in submitting a paper within the various working sessions can visit the OPENSUR 2013 web site. The deadline for submission of abstracts is May 17, 2013.
