Folder   SEMINARS OF SET–DEV PROJECT IN HYDERABAD, NAIROBI AND BRUSSELS
 

Under the SET-DEV project (Science, Ethics and Technological Responsibility in Developing and Emerging Countries) three final seminars, titled "Research, Innovation And Development:The Social Fabric of Science" will be organised.
The seminars will respectively take place in:
Hyderabad (India) on March 29th 2011
Nairobi (Kenya) on April 29th 2011
Brussels (Belgium) on May 3rd 2011.

The Brussels Seminar, hosted by the European Economic and Social Council, will be composed in two parts. The first part is devoted to the presentation of the SET-DEV project and its main outcomes. In particular, the “Knowledge Swaraj: an Indian Manifesto on Science and Technology” , the “African Manifesto for Science, Technology and Innovation”, the pilot projects carried out in India and Kenya and the document “Technological responsibility. Guidelines for a shared governance of the processes of socialisation of scientific research and innovation, within an interconnected world” will be presented and discussed. In the second part of the Seminar a Round Table will be held focused on the lessons learned from the project in the perspective of the Europe-Third countries scientific cooperation.
In the framework of the Brussels seminar, the Guidelines “Technological Responsibility” will be presented by Daniele Mezzana (LSC), while Alfonso Alfonsi will intervene during the Round Table, for LSC. The Round Table will be coordinated by prof. Wiebe Bijker, Maastricht University, with whom LSC is carrying out different research projects.
