PARTNERSHIPS AGAINST SOCIAL EXCLUSION

In 2001-2002 the LSC carried out an action-research project on creating partnerships in the fight against social exclusion and poverty. The project was carried out in Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom on behalf of the European Commission – DG Employment and Social Affairs.

The project aimed to highlight the characteristics, advantages, potential and possible ways for valorising partnerships between public, private and civil society actors in order to fight poverty and social exclusion.

The project envisaged an international survey on partnership theories and experiences in this field, the study of 30 cases of concrete experiences in Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom, the drafting of specific guidelines on the analysis and start-up of partnerships in this field, and the implementation of a distance training process.
